What fuel economy are you getting?

6.5gph,, 300 zuki, 24kt. on a 2625 kingfisher 9'6" beam.. very economical, but light. goes up to 13 gph when I hit 40kt @ 5400rpm

Pretty sure the flow meters on my twin 150 Merc 4 strokes are in US gallons.

I burn 10 gals per hr @ 24 - 26 knots and 11 on tuna trips when I’m really loaded down with ice on the way out and tuna on the way in.
Roughly what RPM do you run at for that speed? Sounds like pretty decent fuel economy.

Commander 30, 15,000 pounds, Twin Volvo D4 260hp. I have Commander friends that have the single Volvo D6 370 HP or smaller horsepower D4's and they get worse performance than the 260's.
So in this particular boat twins and more hp is more economical. 2900 rpm, 33 mph, 14 GPH and 2.37 MPG is my best economy. Fully loaded or light does not really seem to change.
As No Luck said the Diesels have a fairly flat fuel consumption to RPM and there is a wide range of cruise speeds. Even at full throttle and 42 mph I am only burning 22 GPH and 78% of my best fuel mileage.

That comes out to 4.25 mpg. I think somethings out of kilter there. I know kingfishers use a bit lighter gauge in their builds but that figure is suspect.

18’ Silverstreak CC with 115 Yami 4stroke best cruise about 4100 rpm 28mph burning 5.8gph for 4.8 mpg.

28’ Custom Tinny pilot house 10,00o# loaded for bear. Twin 150 Hondas. Best cruise 4400 rpm 22.5mph burning 13 gph for 1.73mpg.

am I missing something? my digital flow meter says 6.5gph at 24kt, seems to be my sweet spot. don't spoil it for me.

Hmmm... Im guilty of never looking at it. I would prefer not to know. When I'm fishing its hammer down when traveling. Time on the water is to precious for me. Never, ever enough time in the day. I hate non productive time when lines are dry. I find my Yamaha 150 to be good on fuel.

Keep in mind I only get ~20 days a year on the salt.

Ran out to Constance Bank this morning. Averaged 2.2mpg. Best I saw was 2.36mpg. Fuel flow meter worked great. It shows 2 circles. One circle is optimum range and the other is current fuel burn range. Simply match them up and you are in the sweet spot. I usually run at 3200 rpm. During this trip the flow meter had me adjusting between 2900 and 3100 for optimum.

What engines are you running?

Your numbers are too good to be true, by about a factor of 2...with twins shouldn't be hard to figure that one out...lol.
