What Did You Do To Your Boat This Week?

I peeled off the lower to get it ready for an impeller when it comes in. Also took out the poppet valve to replace it and snapped off a bolt flush with the hole. What a pain.

Been having a hard time finding a proper cellphone holder for my boat to buy. Scotty came out with one this spring so I finally got my hands on one. I’m pretty impressed with it after a few hours use in a sloppy SE the other day. Held the phone well and would highly recommend it. $60. I tried to tuck it down out of the way but near the charging port. I used the stick on ball mount but it does come with a post mount and track mount as well.
Here's the one I bought for my Kawasaki and boat , Wife and I were t-boned labour day down in states (real world test that we didnt want!) phone stayed in holder undamaged unlike the both of us!!
Bikes written off, I kept the holder.
Well worth the $Screenshot_20240502-073738_Amazon Shopping.jpg

Scanstrut has two types of phone holder/wireless chargers. Parksville Boathouse has them I believe.

I looked at the RAM and Scanstrut stuff. Scanstrut too pricey and the RAM stuff I didn’t want to order it without feeling them. Feel Scotty nailed it with theirs.

p i ss on a plate calm Friday,
22yr old boat and me running a larger pitch for last 8. Might go down to a 17 pitch, but probably not 🤪
Alpha leg on a 24ft and 350 for power is not ideal, this still should last me rest of my boating life
What is a new leg worth roughly? I’ve got a alpha Gen 2 in my shop I was thinking of listing

Putting in a battery box holder and adding flotation.

Interesting video on foam flotation. An eye opener:

Some puttering around with this on days off.
My son found me a beauty 14 Lund ,trailer and 15hp Johnson for a song couple weeks ago from original owner, Alberta boat brought to Alberni.
Cleaned it up, bought some comfy seats, electric trolling motor, cleaned jets, new carb kit, getting it ready and looking forward to use around island lakes.Screenshot_20240508-090456_Messenger.jpgScreenshot_20240508-090041_Messenger.jpgScreenshot_20240508-085935_Messenger.jpgScreenshot_20240508-090719_Messenger.jpgScreenshot_20240508-100412_Messenger.jpgScreenshot_20240508-085250_Messenger.jpg

Did you get the upgraded top cover for the carb? The old style like to split on the top if the idle air screw gets turned in too far.

Is that polystyrene Insulation? It can absorb water as well.
Yes. My plan is to have it wrapped in plastic and easily removable/replaceable. The boat itself is marine plywood core sandwiched between epoxy resin fiberglass.
