The pre-2002 Fichts weren't good. After Bombardier bought OMC the Ficht motors were improved (ie 2002-2004). I ran a pair of 2003 200 Fichts for a couple hundred hours and they were great!
For a motor to help you, Inlet Marine in Port Moody posted a Mercury Optimax 150 on CL yesterday for $2500. Take a look at that one maybe
