During flood tides;one can also push into the flats side of Chain Islands...tight in,,,near bottom can be rocky - 70' - 80' water...also opposite side of the islands can be good flood spots...

who could forget the time those big springs sat infront of the Oak Bay Beach Hotel for 2 weeks and those 20-30 boats of questionable safety fishing the heck out of 30' of water!
DVL U Know, Nice looking fish!! You were braver then I. I looked at the web cams, weather and reports and unhooked the boat. 16.5' DE does not like the rough water... Might have to take a mid week day off to catch up??
Is "The Gap" Plumper Passage?
It wasn't as bad as it looked, we are running a DE as well and she handles it well. It really did flatten out as the day went along. Skip a day of work...you won't regret it!
Lots of decent fish off the waterfront this weekend.
Saw a lot of boats off of what looked like the pipe off clover, but we didn't go east of the harbour this time.
Bait doesn't work...
