Vancouver area fishing

My daughter moved to Vancouver 2 years ago. My wife and I visit a couple of times each winter. I would like to try my hands at steelheading in the Vancouver area. Can someone tell what my options are. Should I bring my fly rod or float rod???

Drift rod for sure heavy winter flows mean it's a tough go for FF types.

Thanks for the reply! We are visiting from Ontario and have no idea what the conditions would be like or where I could get away for a day in the Vancouver area.

Fred's Tackle in Chilliwack. Either call ahead and arrange a guide(reccomended), or go early and spend some money on some steelhead gear and they'll point you in the right direction. Try Dec-Feb.
