Vacuum-packed Bait....

Was reading an article that said:-

if you buy frozen bait...AND....it is vacuum-packed......you need to cut holes in the pack when you thaw it out....otherwise the bait will not thaw out right and it will be mushy and will not brine right...

Correct?

Yes ..as the bait un thaws the vp will crush the bait... in the case of anchovies it will turn into a bloodie mess...

I did a test on a couple of packs ,sealed them tight ,When i was ready i took it out day before fishing and sliced the sealed bag open and let thaw in it's original pack ,the bait was in perfect condition ... I was worried about vp crushing anchovies also but cutting the bag before thaw was the ticket . bought a case lot so wanna keep it all fresh for summer .
