I believe the Bulkley is "Classified Waters" under the BC freshwater fishing regulations. Not sure exactly what that entails other than a more expensive lisence.

Hello Scotsmac,

For British Columbia Fishing Regulations and License info available at: http://www.env.gov.bc.ca/fw/fish/regulations/

The Bulkley River is a Class II Classified Water from September 1st to October 31st each year.

Coming to fish in British Columbia from the UK you are classed as a non-resident alien angler (please don't be offended about our peculiar name for international angling visitors and no we don't think you are a green skinned extra-terrestrial with tentacles, but Canadian anglers from provinces other than British Columbia who fish here are called non-residents, so our out-of-country visitors get "alien" added to the classification description)

You will need to purchase a basic freshwater non-resident alien fishing license ($80 per yr or $50 per 8 days or 20 per day) Classified Waters License (Class II $20 per day) and a Steelhead Conservation Surcharge Stamp too ($60 each).

Hope this helps,
