Subject: FN0364-SANITARY - Changes to Sanitary Closures for Bivalve Shellfish

The following new, revised or revoked sanitary shellfish closure boundaries are
now in effect as a result of recommendations from the Pacific Interdepartmental
Shellfish Committee:

Closure 12.28 Port Harvey, East Cracoft Island - a new annual closure is now in
effect in the following area:

The waters and intertidal foreshore of Port Harvey, West Cracroft Island,
inside a line drawn from the point of land south of the entrance to the channel
in the northwest corner of Port Harvey at 50° 34.06’ north latitude and 126°
16.50’ west longitude, thence southeasterly to the western-most point of Range
Island at 50° 33.84’ north latitude and 126° 16.29’ west longitude, thence
southwesterly to a point of land south of Tide Pole Islet at 50° 33.54’ north
latitude and 126° 16.72’ west longitude. (NAD83).

Closure 12.29 Karlukwee, Turnour Island - a new annual closure is now in effect
in the following area:

The waters and intertidal foreshore fronting the abandoned village of
Karlukwees located at the southern end of Turnour Island northeast of a line
drawn from the headland at 50° 34.70’ north latitude and 126° 30.00’ west
longitude, thence southeasterly to a point of land at 50° 34.57’ north latitude
and 126° 29.70’ west longitude (NAD83).

Closure 15.1 Klahanie to Myrtle Creek, Malaspina Strait - the existing closure
is reduced and is now in effect in the following area:

The inter-tidal foreshore of Malaspina Strait, near the city of Powell River,
commencing at a large log buried in the foreshore south of Scuttle Bay at 49°
53.86’ north latitude and 124° 37.24’ west longitude, thence southeasterly
along the inter-tidal foreshore to the mouth of Myrtle Creek at 49° 47.68’
north latitude and 124° 28.79’ west longitude (NAD83).

January 1 to December 31

Closure 15.20 Deighton Creek to Albion Point, Malaspina Strait - a new annual
closure is now in effect in the following area:

The inter-tidal foreshore of Malaspina Strait, near the city of Powell River,
commencing at the mouth of Deighton Creek at 49° 47.58’ north latitude and 124°
28.06’ west longitude, thence easterly along the inter-tidal foreshore to
Albion Point at 49° 46.00’ north latitude and 124° 23.80’ west longitude
(NAD83).

Closure 16.32 Quarry Bay, Nelson Island - a new annual closure is now in effect
in the following area:

The waters and inter-tidal foreshore of the middle cove in Quarry Bay, Nelson
Island, northeast of a line drawn from a point on land at 49° 39.94’ north
latitude and 124° 07.66’ west longitude, thence southeasterly to a point of
land on the opposite shore at 49° 39.88’ north latitude and 124° 07.61’ west
longitude (NAD83)

January 1 to December 31

Closure 16.33 West Side of Hardy Island – a new annual closure is now in effect
in the following area:

The waters and inter-tidal foreshore of the small bay on the west side of Hardy
Island, east of a line drawn from a point of land at 49° 44.13’ north latitude
and 124° 13.27’ west longitude, thence northeasterly to a point of land on the
opposite shore at 49° 44.25’ north latitude and 124° 13.21’ west longitude
(NAD83).

January 1 to December 31

Closure 16.34 East side of Agamemnon Channel – a new annual closure is now in
effect in the following area:

The waters and inter-tidal foreshore east of the unnamed islet located on the
east side of Agamemnon Channel, inside a line drawn from the northernmost point
of the islet at 49° 43.44’ north latitude and 124° 02.15’ west longitude,
thence true east to a point on land on the opposite shore at 49° 43.44’ north
latitude and 124° 02.11’ west longitude, thence southerly along the inter-tidal
foreshore to a point on land at 49° 43.38’ north latitude and 124° 02.16’ west
longitude, thence true north to the southernmost point of the islet at 49°
43.41’ north latitude and 124° 02.16’ west longitude (NAD83).

Closure 16.20 McLean Bay, Sechelt Inlet - the existing closure is expanded and
is now in effect in the following area:

The inter-tidal foreshore of McLean Bay, located in northern Porpoise Bay,
Sechelt Inlet, northerly of a line drawn true west from the point on shore
where an arm of Angus Creek meets the edge of the beach at 49° 30.43’ north
latitude and 123° 45.41’ west longitude, thence northerly and westerly along
the low tide mark to a point at the western edge of the beach at 49° 30.80’
north latitude and 123° 45.60’ west longitude (NAD83).

January 1 to December 31

Closure 14.25 Denman Island West - is now revoked in the following area:

The waters and intertidal foreshore on the west side of Denman Island within a
125 m radius of a point on land at 49° 34.73’ north latitude and 124° 50.36’
west longitude. The northern boundary is a point on land at 49° 34.80’ north
latitude and 124° 50.37’ west longitude and the southern boundary is a point on
land at 49° 34.66’ north latitude and 124° 50.36’ west longitude.

Closure 14.15 McNaughton Creek, Baynes Sound - is now revoked in the following
area:

The waters and intertidal foreshore which lie within a 250 m radius of the
mouth of McNaughton Creek.

Closure 17.21 Booth Bay, Saltspring Island - the existing closure is reduced
and is now in effect in the following area:

The waters and intertidal foreshore of Booth Bay and Booth Inlet (also known as
Booth Lagoon) and adjacent area, beginning at a point on land at the north end
of Booth Bay at 48° 52.34’ north latitude and 123° 33.62’ west longitude thence
southerly to a point of land at 48° 51.44 north latitude and 123° 33.75 west
longitude. (NAD 83).

January 1 to December 31

Closure 18.25 Moresby Island - is now revoked in the following area:

The waters and intertidal foreshore of an unnamed bay on the north side of
Moresby Island lying inside a line drawn from the northeast side at 48° 43.43’
north latitude and 123° 18.26’ west longitude thence southeasterly to a point
on the opposite shore at 48° 43.38 north latitude and 123° 18.16 west
longitude. (NAD 83)

January 1 to December 31

Closure 23.15 San Mateo Bay - is now revoked in the following area:

The waters and intertidal foreshore at the head of San Mateo Bay, Barkley
Sound, from a point on land at 48° 56.38’ north latitude and 124° 59.07’ west
longitude, southwesterly to a point on land at 48° 56.29’ north latitude and
124° 59.28’ west longitude. (NAD 83)

Closure 23.12 Toquart Bay – the existing closure is reduced and is now in
effect in the following area:

The waters and intertidal foreshore at the head of Toquart Bay, inside of a
line drawn from a point of land east of the Toquart River mouth at 49° 02.30’
north latitude and 125° 21.36’ west longitude, thence southeasterly to Pope
Rocks at 49° 01.68’ north latitude and 125° 20.84’ west longitude, thence
southwesterly to a point of land southwest of the Toquart campground breakwater
at 49° 01.18’ north latitude and 125° 21.50’ west longitude. (NAD 83)

January 1 – December 31

Closure 23.18 Effingham Inlet - a new annual closure is now in effect in the
following area:

The waters and intertidal foreshore on the southwest side of Effingham Inlet,
west of Webster Island, within a 125 meter radius of the dock at 49° 00.11’
north latitude and 125° 11.61’ west longitude. (NAD 83)

January 1 – December 31

Closure 25.10 Nesook Bay – is now revoked in the following area:

The waters and intertidal foreshore at the head of Nesook Bay, from a point on
land northwesterly of the I.R. at 49° 45.59’ north latitude and 126° 23.66’
west longitude, thence southwesterly across the estuary to a point on land at
49° 45.35’ north latitude and 126° 23.95’ west longitude. (NAD 83)
