The Chinook Salmon are listed in three categories for season. SP is for Spring, SU is for Summer and FA is for Fall. They are also listed as AD for Adult or JC for Jack = immature. Looking at the historical data as recently as 1992 the returns on SPChinAD were as low as 10192. That was a particularly sad year although by 2001 the SPChinnAD numbers were at 391367. These runs are cyclical and will always come and go like the tides. I think it is natural to get nervous when the numbers are low. Any conservation or habitat projects that we can do will help.
