Saanich Inlet

He may have been referring to Prawn fishing ??
I've hit a few winter springs in the inlet, quite a few years
since i've tried it...

Sorry, when I think Saanich Inlet I think prawns, but the conditions would sure be nice for salmon if one could find them.

Deep Cove on occasion. I've never targetted Winters off Botswain Bank (Cherry Point), but that flat, eel-grassy bottom sure looks fishy for winters.

ive caught them and done quite well of cherry point, 10' of water, casting with a crocodile spoon. Pretty fun fishing, used the trout rod with a bigger reel and had some 6-10lbers!
