river fishing this weekend

Hey guys, want to get out there and do some river fishing on the south Island. Would prefer to use the spinning rod if possible, not so hot with the fly rod yet.
where would you go fish and for what?
spent the summer on the lakes, looking for a change.

You could try horseshoe bend area on the Cowichan. Between Marie Canyon and Skutz falls. Easy access and spin fishing is allowed.

Thanks, i don't mind a bit of a hike either, and have 4wd to get to to other spots.
