Port Alice / Neroutsos inlet fishing

Has anyone tried dropping crab or prawn traps in the outer, seaward portion of Quatsino? General opinion I've been told is the return of substantial sea otter populations really knocked down the crustacean fishery in this area, but has anyone tried of late? 200 ft or more is beyond what most otters will dive.

I have tried all around WH with no results. Only place I know of is in the deep water around Coal Harbour. I was out at the grants bay beach last week and noticed lots of crab shells on the beach. I might start looking out in that area, maybe in the RCA.... Sure would be nice to find some close by
