Will be interesting to watch this. Beach fishing is becoming very popular.

RVP:
What's the access like to the beaches in this area?

any opertunities for trolling pinks around nanaimo other then departure bay?

i read in a report that pinks were showing up around fingers

I havent seen any yet, and ive been looking for the past 2 weeks.

Can you fish in departure bay from the beach, I wasnt fully understanding the regualtions? Thanks Also has anyone seen or caught any?

Yes you can fish from the beach.

Departure Bay will be open inside a line from the inside of the ferry dock, to the bottom tip of Brandon Island. This will keep the boats out of the way of the ferry traffic.

I have heard a report of a few pinks getting picked up near Neck point, with the biggest being 6 lbs.

RVP- Can you give me a call if you see or hear of any more pinks coming in. We have to get out and do some assessment, might have to take the fly rod. Gotta love my job :D Brian B.

If one were to beach cast for pinks, what terminal tackle would be recommended?
If one were to cast from a canoe for pinks, what terminal tackle would be recommended?
I almost always toss pinks back when on the westcoast but this sounds fun for the kids!
