With the amount of “CC” to various media attention I would say this just isn’t a shot across the political bow. It definitely reads the ones that once carried the load to it highest accord of data recording of the species have been silent no more and are coming out guns a blazing. The amount of ammo, collectively here within, of actual human physical knowledge would blow the so called computer modelling completely out of the water.
If the political powers to be don’t remove their Velcro lips from the economical and reconciliation fuzzy butts and address this situation head on with actual truthful factual numbers in conversation then they themselves have no respect of this provinces resources or those that based a life long career nurturing this iconic species.
I hope Mr Cullen adheres to this letter being that it’s as much as a social program as it is a resources one that has been sold out cheap to those that call BC their province. Our province Our resource not own by anyone not even a politician that fudges numbers or is being political correct toward certain groups. This is a species at risk no different than the Grizzly bear, the Marmotts, the Spotted Owl , the Moose and the Water in which this species called Steelhead reside.
One thing for sure is if political action isn’t tabled in conversation that favour the future conservation of steelhead it won’t be difficult to see where the snakes are hiding. Snakes always leave a trail in the sand
