New boat to me - Double Eagle 206

Hey Guys ,

Picked up this ‘83 DE yesterday. Spent some time to try and find a good clean boat. For an ,83 it’s about as clean as you can get. Hoping to repower in the fall with new outboard power but for now I will run the Volvo I/0 . First things I want to do are service the engine and out drive, new tires on trailer , new soft top, cut/polish the hull and give the inside a good cleaning. Any idea what this set up weighs? The owner said it had extra fiberglass/resin installed when it was new as an option from the factory so that will for sure add some extra weight.

Nice clean boat, the only way to get an accurate weight is to run the boat/trailer over a scale. especially for an older boat the layup is probably quite thick and there’s the possibility of some water intrusion anything else is just a guesstimate.

I can smell that boat just through the photos.... not in a bad way, just very nostalgic.

Reminds me of fishing with my grampa, back when hats used to have that rope thing across the brim and everyone had their pack of smokes rolled up in their sleeves.

And a haze of 2 stroke smoke in the popular fishing areas lol….keeps the bugs away!

that cloud when opening it up after trolling all day on a 2 stroke main without variable oil injection...priceless.

280 original hours….between 1983 and the mid 90s only 20 hours were out on according to the previous owner.

I think it’s a 305 288D with a 280 out drive
