Mounting transducer without drilling

I’ve got a new transducer I want to get mounted on my pod, there’s no bracket welded on and if I could avoid getting one welded on that would be ideal. Is using 5200 on a piece of starboard an option anyone has used? And screwing the transducer to the starboard.88ACD7EC-53C6-4C9C-AE61-F396512DB7E5.jpeg

I did it on my last boat. I had to build a bracket to hold the starboard in place while it cured. Lasted for the couple years I had it.

I've done lots that way.I cut the starboard to size and angle of the transom, then cut some shallow kerfs at 45 deg. on the back side with the table saw. That gives the 5200 or Sikaflex a mechanical bond to the starboard.I just press it in place, they never move.

My transducer mounting block is level 3 bullet resistant lexan. Ran it through the table saw for some grooves for the 5200 to grab into.

Get the fast cure 5200. I used the regular stuff and it takes forever to cure

Just did this with a scrap piece of 1 inch HDPE from plastic shop near me. I used West system epoxy to adhere to the boat. I drilled pilot holes in the back and then used lag bolts to create anchors for the epoxy (copied stern saver product). It seems like it is rock solid, but haven't splashed yet as I just finished today. Screenshot_20210601-231356.png

In the past i've used vhb tape straight to the transom. that stuff is unbelievably strong. lasted years, i had to fillet it off with a box cutter to remove it when i wanted to replace it. highly recommend and easy to install just make sure you do the surface prep with IPA.

1-3/8” thick Lexan. I use whatever I have for my upgrades. Don’t go out and buy something if you have something that will work the same.

I just mounted same transducer. You're gonna luv it. Game changer.

I thought about mounting it to 5200’d starboard but I lost a ducer last year that way. Way safer to bolted/screwed on in case you hit debris.
