Need to re outfit the lodge.

Rods, reels, traps, tackle, terminal, you name it we need it.

Any recommendations for the whole kit?

Always been a few items at a time, never a complete refurbishing.

I'd love that rig! Specially come tuna time next September...

We will be adding another boat to the mix, can't fathom it'll be quite that unit but maybey santa will be hammered and drop it off by mistake.

Rods you might want to get in touch with Lamiglas and see if they will sell to you wholesale direct? Or, put their name on the side of the boat and maybe they will participate in the cost? They have done it in the past. Wholesale, is usually about 50% of the retail price and they do make a good rod. I run two XCF 864, have a friend that liked mine so much he ran out and bought two of his own. I bought a 9’for my son-in-law and his father liked it so much – he asked for the exact same rod for his birthday. Those were for level winds, if you are thinking a 10’6” rod for a single action reel, look at model# XCF 106 4F (rod handle 2)

I don’t know if you have heard of Sportco? But, Sportco is now ‘Sportco & Outdoor Emporium’. The trick there is their Fife location, which they also are a distributor under the name Farwest Sports. Farwest Sports also owns and operates Sports Service, the largest wholesaler of outdoor related sporting goods in Washington State. You need to call them direct also and let them know you are a guide and ask for wholesale pricing. I have received some very large discounts from them, just by going in and talking to the different department managers:

As far as rest of the gear, depending on what I need? I have bought a lot from the following and they are usually the ones with the best pricing:

Fish 307, very good for tackle:

Chartbait:

All Tackle:

There are alot of great places to buy from. Some have better prices on rods and reels. Some will have better prices on traps and rope etc.
Put a list together and fax it off to different suppliers for a quote. Some wholesalers will sell direct to lodges others don't.

And give me a call about Hali fishing this weekend!!

Cheaper places to buy from....buy from the Reps!!!

Hands down, second vote for Active!
Give Deryk a shout, you won't be disappointed!

Mike

Yup, Active Tackle is the way to go.

Yep, I highly recommend Deryk at Active. You have seen the tackle on my boat - he supplies most of my stuff and you can't beat his ability to get you what works, and steer you away from the rest of the stuff that catches fishermen. We have bee buds for many years since we were in our teens (a few centuries back now), so I think I can safely say he is a good guy. The other bonus is he lives around the corner, so if you need something quick in season I can always grab it and drop it off to you when I'm heading back and forth from Port to Bamfield.
