i heard a story a while back, wondering if it's true. i was told that there was a period of time (long time) when ling's were strictly off limit, a closed fishery. the guy said that due to the ease of catching them, they were nearly wiped out on the inside waters and fishing for them again is a recent thing.
is this a tall tale or fact?
i have caught a few and so have my mates, and i see plenty of ling carcasses around. everyone likes them, and if they are there, they seem to bite. anyone concerned about the potential to overfish this species?
