kicker motor attachment

hey guys so I have the Panther tie bar quick release balljoints and made a 24" threaded rod myself but the issue im having is figure out how to mount the rod from my thunderbolt 850 merc to my 5hp merc kicker thats on a fulton kicker bracket. Has anyone had issues trying to get the rod properly aligned on those adjusting fulton kicker brackets, considering if moves the kicker out farther past the main motor by a fair amount!

Ive googled for hours and only seen kickers either directly attached to the transom or a fixed non moveable kicker bracket setup never a fulton setup like I have.

cheers

Nick

A picture would probably help others. I have a similiar setup just on a fixed bracket.

I am presuming you are connecting the rod after the kicker is setup. If the kicker is offset too far back you may have to bend the connecting rod into an "L" or "Z" for the offset back and so the rod doesn't hit your main motor.

yah ill snap a shot of it tonight my buddy and I have an idea that we might try but thought I would get some more input :)

could you not offset bend your rod? i have fulton bracket and ran a straight rod but this year i was going to put an off set bend in it for about 3". you would need a longer rod, my fulton ball joint was metric thread.

heres some pics and a video of my setup that I finally made up just about finished some final welding.
