Kicker charging kit

I've got an older (~1996) Merc 9.9 2 stroke kicker and I love it. The one problem is that it runs about 10X as much as the main engine and I'm concerned about drawing down the batteries while trolling. I understand there are charging kits available for these engines but has anyone ever installed one and where should I go for the parts? I'm pretty mechanical so I'll be OK with the install just need to know what parts I need. I always have this fear (despite having 2 big batteries) that after a day of running downriggers and electronics I hit the mains and have a dead batt...hard to pull start a 4.3.

Try and peek under the flywheel with a flashlight to see if the charging coils are present?

Not sure about a Merc one but I priced out a kit for a 9.9 Yammy from Sherwood here in Vic and it was only about $160.00
