Is my driveway too steep?

Hi guys, bought a new house and the only place to put my boat is to reverse it down the side of the house onto a flat bit of garden. The previous owners concreted the access to this garden but it is very steep, I did a rough measurement and its 20-25 deg or 1 in 3 more or less, it looks scary. My boat is a Trophy 2052 with Tandem Escort trailer +- 4000lbs with gear, kicker and fuel and my truck is a Ram 3500 4x4 6.7 Cummins. Trouble is going down in reverse the trailer surge brakes will not work so all the braking is by the truck, I will use low ratio and will only try this on dry concrete........am I asking for trouble?

Oh I will double up on strapping the boat to the trailer.

Any thoughts?

truck should be fine stopping that weight in 4lo.... use some e brake to help with the front back bias to stop the fronts from wanting to lock

Definitely don't do it. You will most likely die and your truck will blow up and house will burn down. Google it then youtube if unsure.

if you have a dodge 3500 that can tow 27,000 lbs I would not worry about holding your 4000lb boat back or pulling it out, make sure your leg is tilted all the way up and have someone watch to make sure you don't bottom out..

Sounds like a U-Tube video being born. ;-)

Here are some pics. I had to fill in the steps with scrap lumber and some lawn at the top is going to have to go, so any one know a good concrete guy near Duncan? I need to get rid of the steps, some lawn, and make a level slab for the boat to sit on.

Okay okay the Rams a piece of C##p and will never pull the boat out now its there, I'll just fill the boat with soil and plants and take up gardening! LOL

Piece of cake. Id check my u joints first though.

Want to make it a piece of cake? Mount a hitch on the front of your truck, no strained neck trying to see where you are going, and you may find you don't need to remove the stairs. Oh and get a pair of wheel chocks.

no problem, i have a dodge cummins 398,000 k and still pulling strong. Try putting in 4x4 low as the motor will also help hold you back. Winter fishing excluded, lol.
