I'm not so sure that DFO and / or NOAA are in the dark.

Yup we need to be careful and we need science but our country seems to be have a war on science at the moment.
Cuts to DFO that are targeted to the Biologist and researchers personal. Cut's to Experimental Lakes Program. Stopping the monitoring of pollution in the ocean. The list goes on....... Sending in a swat team to serve a search warrant when a police officer was all that was needed...... I'm tired of being on the defense and it's nice to see someone out there pushing the edge for solutions....

http://science.haidasalmon.net/We were very lucky to be provided 20 ocean drifters from the United States National Oceanographic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) for use in our project. Like the rest of our instruments we deployed them inside the bloom and outside the bloom. In fact you can track our drifters on this website. The drifters are an outstanding tool as they allow us to track our bloom with a high degree of accuracy.
