info on Immec reel for grandson

Hello, everyone.

My son's grampa gave him an Immec 256-P level wind reel. It was grampa's old reel for chasing bigger fish in Manitoba back in the day.

The reel appears to be in great used condition and we are wondering if any of you know anything about them.
Specifically, how would it make out for saltwater trolling off the island?

We would rather use it and have it wear out having been a part of new memories than let it collect dust.
