If you are a rec angler and you want to have a chance to provide your input to our local SFAB reps regarding the 2014 Halibut regulations here is your chance.

A message from Chris Bos, SFAB Member and SVIAC President:

"Your local Victoria and Area Sport Fishing Advisory Board (SFAB) Committee representatives have been busy working on your behalf on a number of fisheries issues. There is, however, one issue, and that’s halibut, needing our immediate attention. Specifically, having halibut anglers provide their local SFAB representatives advice on how they would like the 2014 halibut season to be managed around South Vancouver Island.

For that reason, I have arranged a special meeting on Thursday 9th January 2014 between 7:00 p.m. and 9:00 p.m. in the Esquimalt Anglers Lounge ( 1101 Munroe Street – at the foot of Lampson Street in Esquimalt ). Parking is free. NOTE: This meeting is open to all recreational anglers. Please come early as seating is limited."

I look forward to seeing you there,

Christopher Bos,

Good luck guys I hope you had a turn out. Life's so busy but I need to make time for stuff like this. Since I didn't attend I promise not to complain about any decisions made for 2014.

I speak for all anglers who don't make it out for these meetings when I say thank you and good work we DO appreciate all the work you put in for our benefit even though we don't always show it.

Good to see. Wouldn't it be better to have it after IPHC announces final amounts? But none the less, good to have.
