Welcome to the BC Made Tackle Showcase! This thread is open for participation by non-business hobbyists and official SFBC sanctioned company sponsors, in accordance with the official forum rules.

If you are a company that sponsors this website or a not-for-profit hobbyist, we invite you to share and showcase the tackle you design and make right here in British Columbia. Whether it's for freshwater or saltwater, we want to see the BC-made products that you are proud of.

Please remember, this is not a buy, sell, or spam thread. It is purely for information sharing and to help raise awareness about the local makers in our community.

So, let's see what BC has to offer in the world of tackle making! Share your creations and let's celebrate the talent and creativity of our local fishing enthusiasts. 🙂

I'll go first, this is a swimbait that I make called a PLUMPY. It is not yet widely available. It was developed over the past number of years.

I was hoping some more local makers would share what they are making. I'll add another to help get things going.

This is my son holding a fish caught on a drift jig that I make called the Herring Jig. It is virtually indestructible. It's not widely available yet, but will be once my electrical is done so I can fire up the newly installed industrial coating oven. Fingers crossed it'll be soon. 🙂

One of these days, someone else will jump in and share the tackle they make, then I won't have to post so much. 🙂

These are called HALI CLACKERS, I make them and have a new version in development. Sight, sound and smell. Knock em.

Don't blame me if no one else is posting on this thread. It's not my fault that it appears like I make so many different things. 🙂

This is a PAL P4, a highly actionized trolling spoon. It is popular for many species of fish and also available in the used and vintage markets. I own all of the PAL tooling, dies and machinery. I purchased PAL anumber of years ago.

Let's see what you are doing?! I could keep posting for quite awhile, but wheres the fun in that. Does no one have a hobby to share? Are there no locally made BC lure companies that support this forum out there any more??

If you are an official sponsor of this forum (SFBC) and your lures are made in British Columbia, let's see them. Sharing is caring. :)

A number of years ago I came across a company in Ontario called KIKO lures, after ordering and fishing with these versatile lures, I decided to buy the company. It has always been made in Canada, sold worldwide. Now Made Here on Vancouver Island. Great in both freshwater and saltwater scenarios.

Mine is a locally owned (everett, WA) lure company, but manufactured in Nepal as each fly takes an hour to make. With minimum wage in our state approaching USD $19/hr, not sure anyone would buy a USD $28 fly if I made them here!
That's what they said about TOMIC and Fishinator plugs, both made in BC, but anglers keep on buying. Everything I make is done right here on Vancouver Island. I believe in supporting our local economy as much as I possibly can. People mean more to me than money.

Appreciate the thought. There are NO machine made parts for my flies. They are 100% hand made. If you can find a way to sell a bucktail fly for $28 I’m all ears.

We have tiers here in BC that sell polar and bucktail into retail stores for well under $28 usd to the consumer. It's obtainable.

Everything I do requires my hands and I work on my own creating, building, selling. One man. It ain't easy, but it's obtainable. 🙂

Today I made Wedge Wires for slip sinkers and finished up the last step to complete the gears for the reel clickers. One more day of Wedge wires and I'll be good for the year. Got a nice blister from all the winding. No pain, no gain. Nothing a lttle duct tape won't fix.

I'll be setting up and making speed rings for TOMIC plugs soon. Three sizes. Just waiting to see how many of each they need.

I still have lots to post. Hopefully some more BC tackle makers will chime in soon. We would love to see it all. 🙂

Ps. Please remember the guidelines for this thread as per the Admin request as stated in the very first post. Thanks. 🙂
