gabriola island

going to gabriola island this weekend does anyone know if its worth while to take crab traps? I heard the salmon fishing is good around thrasher rock, any info on that would be great.

From my experience it is not the greatest over there. I tried a bay up near orlebar point, which has a sandy beach, but it is 10 miles from Silva bay. You might take lots of rope and try along Gabriola Island, inside say the 100' line. Call Bob Meyers,@ Silver-Blue charters, or Silvie,@ Ever-ready charters and ask them?
Vancouver Harbour probably 10X as good.
