Fishing From a Stand Up Paddle Board....

Thanks for the input guys.

I don't plan on rigging it up too heavily, but probably will rig up a new mount, small tackle/bait box. For a fish "box" I figured maybe a dry bag or just pack a plastic fish bag that can be tied up and tied down. Likely bring iphone(in waterproof case) in some way...will have to think about that one. Landing the fish is going to be the biggest challenge. Undecided whether a net or gaff is a better idea.

Anyways, thanks for the input!

Good on ya. Tsquared's exploits got me doing a little research this winter and I think the Hawaiian spear gaff should be a consideration. Used here to bag a 75# Tuna from a yak. This guy rocks the spear gaff in tandem with a more traditional gaff to haul the biggies in, including a marlin (different vid) into his yak. As far as the bag, a burlap sack that you wet and secure once the fish is on "board".

Scotty SUP rod mount...

http://www.scotty.com/fishing-gear-equipment/rod-holders/SUPMounts.htm

Long story, but I hit the drink once in the saltchuck and had my blackberry in a ziploc sandwich bag. Was shocked to see it stayed bone dry, even after an unplanned swim.

Just strap a light weight aluminum 2 step ladder to the board, then mount your rod holder, tackle box, and mini cooler to that.

From what I can tell the only problem with a lot of those Bote products is that you NEED to have their board to attach them? I can't see them expecting you to drill holes in them like in the pic above to hold the SS "walker".

I was going to strap a milk crate on my SUP to sit on and give it a go..
There are a bunch of sweet vids on youtube of guys hooking small sharks down in florida
