Hello ! New to the forum, Thanks for having me onboard,
This forum has a wealth of info and great people to share and offer assistance, Gotta love it !

As the title says, I recently got a project boat, that needs a lot of work.
Floors, Stringers & Transom, and a bunch of fiberglass work all over the boat to start
My intentions is to Pod it and re-power it with an outboard & kicker
I'll be using the boat for fishing and diving

Currently in the clean up, strip down stage to see what it really needs
I'll post some pictures later and add more as it goes

Mercruise Alpha One Gen 1
Looking for Leg removal advise
So far shifter's in forward, Six nuts removed, Have about 1/8 in gap
But is stuck and can't remove
What am I doing wrong ? Any advise ?
Could it be the shaft is rusted into back of motor ?

are the trim rams unhooked?

Been trying to for the last few day to remove drive leg and undo rear engine bolts that attach to transom mount
Not much luck with the 1/2" x 2 ft breaker bar or the 1/2" impact gun
So this evening I took things to the next level 1 in x 3 ft breaker bar to remove 3/4" bolt
It gave up a good fight, but I won this round

Next is back to the drive leg removal
I'm prepared to cut the drive shaft if need be
But was hoping I don't have to go down that rabbit hole
As someone else may need these parts to use
I'll try heating the shaft first, maybe that will be enough to break a rust bond
Wish me luck
