Diversion Reservoir

We attempted to reach Diversion via Forebay rd about 2 weeks ago. Unfortunately the road is deactivated about half way up. Is this the most common road up there? Is there still access?

On a side note, I was curious about the humpback reservoir, are you allowed to fish it?

No,that's watershed and serious consiquences if caught in there at all.Used to fish the Diversion years ago for small but plentiful Rainbows but haven't been up there since the early 90's.

Here's a map of Mt Well park. Humpback isn't part of the watershed. Whether or not its fished, ?. You likely can, although I will find out for sure. As for Diversion, it's not part of the watershed either. Nor is Bear creek. See the other link for more info. Diversion is accessed through forestry land , so technically probably not supposed to be there. It is one of those spots that has lingered over the years. Some get in, some don't. I will one day.

I hiked Mt Wells yesterday and there are no trespassing signs all over the place surrounding the humpback reservoir. I also looked up it's fishing status on a website that was updated way back in 2013 saying it is closed to fishing and swimming...

Since this is not a fisheries related site and is dated back to 2013 the info might be invalid. Judging by the fact it's not in the freshwater synopsis though I'd say your best bet would be to actually call or email fisheries directly to confirm the fishing/entry/access regulations.

I will mention though that there is a very well beaten trail around the side of the fence on the south end of the damn wall itself, only a mere 40ft up the trail from the main parking lot at the damn wall. I would bet money that people do use it for fishing, swimming, and likely growing legally questionable plants for smoking purposes.(I have seen the remains of a few old grows while hiking in and around the surrounding area)
