Crab Trap Recommendations?

Sir Reel, I used a dome igloo trap before for many years and they really work well for rock crabs. The round stainless commercials work best for dungeness though. The square cheap traps work good but if you leave them to soak to long the crabs do find a way out. Always found a 2 hr soak in the cheap square traps was best. Back to the trap you have posted, where they shine is on slopping or uneven ground. The reason is traps with swinging doors let crab easily escape on slopping or uneven ground because the high side doors will be open do to gravity and the side doors once bumped open won't close behind the crabs. The dome traps that I used worked well for long soaks as the trap is harder for the crabs to figure out a way in but they don't escape. They used to make a brownish orange plastic one and it was a killer trap.
