Confusing Coho?

Another sign it could be a farm raised fish (Atlantic), worn fins from rubbing together against nets and other fish.

The only fish that would have spots on the gill plate would be a an Atlantic salmon. They will have a grey/white flesh if they haven't been fed the usual fish farm fodder that has dies added to it. Steelhead will have spots on the head, but would never have white flesh as far as I know. I guess coho might rarely white flesh but they wont have spots on the gill plate.

Sounds like an Atlantic. DFO would like a sample probably. I would imagine they could use the flesh for the test.

I spoke with my buddy, who kept the fillets and after looking at the information he agrees it was an Atlantic Salmon. I called DFO's Atlantic Salmon 'hotline' early yesterday and still haven't heard back from them. I guess that's an indication of their concern.
