Cate Park Fishing North Van

Hey guys, I was online looking for places to go try fishing.
Cate Park in North Van looks great. Has anyone done any fishing out there From THE SHORE as i dont have a boat. any ideas as to whats to catch and what i should be using??

In a Pink year there's an active fishery there-Yes.

Pinks on the South Coast run every second odd</u> year.

 

[Salmon Smoker]

When the pinks are running you can fish from the shore right at the point. You'll know the fish are there 'cause there will also be about 20 boats 30' from shore.

 

[Little Hawk]

The place is called 'Cates Park'.

Used to see Coho jumping off the beach there back in the 70's.
Likely Wigwam fish. Not sure what's left of the run now.
Join a local fish & game club; good way to learn stuff.
