Don't waste your time. There is no federal legislation to recall a federal MP.

My advice: Try and turn him to support our cause. He is a sports fisherman himself, and may personally agree with our position, even if he is publicly siding with the Commercial Halibut fishermen.

He is also a Minister of the Crown, and with that will come more effort to make sure he retains his seat in the next election.

Promise him that IF he sides with us, that we can get numbers of people to work on his campaign, and donate $$$ to HIS cause.

Alternatively, promise him that those same people and $$$ will go to his strongest rival should he continue to oppose a fair allocation to the sports sector.

As I have stated before, if we can get him onside, he is more useful to us than an opposition rookie who will have no say whatsoever in guiding government.

Agreed. You definitely catch more flies with honey than with vinegar and especially honey that is high in vitamin M but now that he's on record, it may tale more than that. You're going to have to help him find a way to craft a new message that doesn't contradict the one he just put out. Not so easy for a Minister of the Crown.
