Any good crabbing near Port Hardy?

Comming up and was wondering if it is worth bring pots for crab and prawns?

There are crabs right in the harbour and around the corner at Fort Rupert... best to stick with your traps... the residents get a little ****# about tourists at times taking thier crabs [8D] And that is not the only place you will find them-- but since crabs populations can be wiped clean of legals in a short period-- dont expect too many folks to tell you much on a wide open board

Thanks for the information, I have found many to be really nice and a few others that don't really care to have us up there harvesting valuable resourses. I undrstand their feelings. It sure is pretty and I love being up there.

Its not really about which country you are from--- just that it is too easy to over-exploit the resource... If you do a search on this board, you will see that I have gotten really pi##y in the past when someone spilled the beans on locations for sedentary shellfish stocks. Hope you have a good time!!
