703 Controls

[Reelin In The Years]

Anybody have a set of wrecked 703 controls with the pull bracket on the inside.
The 703 controls I have, has the push bracket. So won't work on my 9.9 Yamaha.
Would like to buy just the bracket, if possible.
Also, if you have a complete set of 703 controls kicking around you aren't using, let me know.

I’m pretty sure you have to swap an arm or pivot link around to a different hole. Changes it from push to pull and vice versa

You can convert if you have a set of taps and a cutoff wheel. Have to remove the brass flared end of the pin, flip the arm, and tap a 10/32 machine screw back into it, with a washer. Basically just flipping the little arm and recreating the flared end keeping the arm pinned. Kind of a pain, but done it more than I would have liked to.

Thanks for the info. I was tempted to swap the arm around as suggested, but managed to find the pull control arm from a marine shop in Duncan. All together now and all is good.
