Yes and once they impose the restrictions I don’t see them ever being relaxed. Face it they are putting their entire effort into fixing the Fraser Spring salmon decline on a couple of areas near the runs terminus. We all know that the problem is much, much bigger, but it’s all about appearing to do something while avoiding pissing off their friends. Being as how the environmental damage that’s been done is being ignored, conservation along the whole migration route is spotty at best,the seal issue, the over harvest in the Fraser etc., I doubt the proposed closures near the Fraser approaches will solve the whole complex problem. So every year the restrictions will be renewed because the problem wasn’t solved and likely expanded. Fewer people will fish and pushback will decline.
