1987 Malibu 20 Alaska Bulkhead

Just purchased a 1987 Malibu 20 Hardtop Alaskan Bulkhead in amazing condition for its age. She's been a trailer queen for most of her life and it shows. Currently powered by a fresh water cooled 4.3 Mercruiser and Alpha Gen 1 drive all in great condition. In this crazy COVID era with such inflated boat prices I think I did pretty good at $6000??? My plans are to get at least 3 summers out of the inboard and then pod her out with a 200 HP Verado. So can anybody give me some feedback on this particular model ? I was mistaken regarding drive .....its actually a Gen 2 and the engine is newer than I thought....its a 4.3 Vortec....not sure of the year yet, but if I remember the marine Vortec was introduced in the mid 90's....hopefully I can get at least 3 summers out of her and then PROJECT POD begins!
