Every years some shop sells 50# bags for around $50. I have not seen any this year and I need a new bag. Any leads? Best I can find is around $70

Cheers,

I am so happy Robert at PNT didn't want my business.

As I found out today the Shar-Kare sells 55lb of really oily prawn pellets for only $49.99 every day of the week. That is 20-30dollars cheaper then any where else I know. Plus it is way cheaper then paying $30 for the 5lb buckets else where.

And no they are not farm pellets or trout food.

It really pays to shop around, especially in this town.
When I was looking for game cams a local shop had on for 279 ...that was on sale. Their best price.
Cabelas.ca for the same thing was 199.00

Ouch!
I could ship it to China for 80$

Thanks FA for the pick up of the pellets. They do look good and if they work as well as we have heard, a person will not need to juice them up with prawn oil as they are greasy just out of the package.

FA what is the shar-kare? Hoping I might be able to find these pellets on the mainland somewhere.

I have been using the Share Care pellets for the last year and find they work very well, better than the drier,. non oily ones I used to get from Buckerfields. I find they are so oily you have to rotate the container every month or the oil just becomes a puddle in the bottom.

Thanx FA good to know.I paid the 30 bucks for 5 lbs so Shar Kare it is for me

Demco99 Shar Kare is a small chain pet supply and misc. items.I think it is only on the Island

In the interest of reduce, reuse, recycle does anyone re use their prawn pellets after a soak?

I bought one of those 11 pound bags from wal mart for about $27. Not near the deal FA got. Anyways I went prawning on the weekend, the traps soaked for about 5 hours, I got a years worth of prawns so the bait was not wasted but I am tempted to leave the soggy pellets in the cups and try re using them.

Does anyone do this and how does it compare to fresh pellets? They don't look too broken down but they are deffinetly soggy. Is it best to just go with fresh stuff or is this something that can go back down for a second soak and produce similar results?

I always dump the used bait back into a pail and add fresh stuff to it next time I am out. I just store it in the freezer.

I know some people who never throw them out. They toss the used pellets into a bucket and refreshen it all the time with roe, salmon belly, prawn heads, crab guts, cat food, sea star legs etc.

But at Shar-Kare's price I think I can just toss them at the end of the day.

Oh by the way it has been confirmed this is the same bait that PNT sells for much more.

I just went and had a look perhaps your location carries the same stuff but what I have seen is Taplow at PNT and aqua-something at Share Kare. I don't know if the brands are any differnet in effect but I want to get out and get some prawns too.

I don't know it all....But my friend that came over last night said it was the same stuff that he had bought at PNT. Remember PNT does carry more then one brand. That I do know... As I once almost bought a bag from Shane before Robert started working there.

I am happy with my buy so is Cuba Libre. I am so glad that Redden Net in Campbeller River told me about this great deal.

prawning

i never buy any baite for prawning and i do quite well,,i use salmon belly's,crab guts, salmon roe,,and i usually come home with my limit every time, and try them prawn heads for crabing,,they are excellent, crab love them

Hey Nick, Shar-kare are only on the Island and 1 store in china too lol,
if you want get a hold of Deryk and I'll split a 50lb bag of skrettings pellets with you, I still have some but they keep forever it seems anyway
or if you want I think he has smaller qty's now too the stuff from PNT I believe is from taplow

Thought I would Share this.....I grind all alot of my back bones and collar's as well as my hali scraps. I then mix with last season left over scents, bait etc.etc....Every thing goes in. Then I freeze it in 2.5oz cups. When I want to go prawning I toss a cup in my scotty bait container with a few pellets. Guess I have lots of pellets.... :) But check these out.

kinda funny but that fish head in the corner there seems to be looking at those cups with an "OH ****" look on his face
