CANUCKS'- 2010

Not making excuses but here is my take. Their goalie played better than ours and that represented 2 wins for Boston. Based on the type of game the league allowed to take place the better team won. What pisses me off about the NHL and it is the only pro league where this would happen, you play under the written rules all season then in the most important game of the season they disappear.

I couldn't agree more dbl R.... There is the NHL that you build a team for then the playoff NHL which is totally different...

At least we have the dub coming to town next year... a chance for some real hockey :D

Glad I'm not on duty tonight at Vancouver Fire. The a**holes have come out after the Canucks loss. Bring in the Army and kick some butt!! What a bloody embarressment yet again.

They have nothing to do with the real fans...... Idjuts, plain and simple

Hawks were one knuckle ball short of the Canucks in their series. Burrows hustled a nothing puck in overtime...game 7 ...or the Nucks were toast. They needed that against the Bruins. Leaky Lou was showiung his true colours in those 2 Hawks blow out games. The Nucks are born Golfers

I can understand why your upset, but the Hawks never had a chance this year. And lou didnt fail as bad as his defensemen let him down. Which is the case more often than not. One man doesn't make a team, and if you are relying on one player to clinch the game, then its over before you started. Even Chara stepped up and made a beautiful save behind his fallen goalie. It takes a whole team to win.

More importantly, the crowd in vancouver is totally emberassing. I am ashamed to think we have that many idiots out there acting like that. Oh well takes the news away from our sad loss!

The cops should be allowed to start laying some punishment to everyone. The camera's should shut off for 30 minutes and come back on after the blood bath!

Good thing im not mayor! hahaha

Well said! They found a way to win and win again. They took it to Game 7 of the Stanley Cup Finals but just couldn't find a good way to beat Tim Thomas. He deserves the cup for sure. I am a little disappointed by the inconsistent officiating and suspension calls between regular season and playoffs. I thought our team was built based on 2011 NHL hockey and the Bruins were a little more like 1990 NHL hockey. Then when we tried to play that style of hockey it was not our game!

Bruins beat the Canucks into submission. Leaky Lou was brutal in game 6 and the Bruins had 2 and 1/2 periods to soften up the Canucks even more for game 7. Yes it takes more than one guy to win the cup but without Thomas the Bruins are out in the first round against the Habs, so one man CAN MAKE A HUGE DIFFERENCE. Thomas was a stud every game against the Canucks. Luongo was a stud 3 times, a dud 3 times and average once. As a player it must be very strange wondering which goalie you have tonight, Leaky or Lucky. The dissparity between the regular season and playoffs is massive. Ironnoggin I did not see you post a single message about the Canucks until they lost game 7. Guys like you make me puke. Go shoot another defenseless bear.

Not being a consummate hockey fan I have a question?

Why did I see the Boson guys line up in front of the opponents goal consistently? Almost every time they were in the Cauncks end they were ready with a plan.

On the other side I noticed the puck fed into the center but no one was in position to capitalize.

It seems that the lack of meaningful offense the Canucks brought was as big as the poor defense.

It appeared that the Canucks were wore down and just got handled.

Go Canucks 2011!

Yeh, because fish have such an impervious built in defense mechanism.
Spoken like a true tree huggin wannabe!
For most of the games, IronNog, was at sea fishing for a living and never saw them played!
Get em Matt!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am a true hockey fan and a canucks fan for life. I also played the game at a higher level than most. There is one thing I do know, to do what the nucks did this year was nothing short of amazing. Not since the old time habs has a team done so well over a season. What you saw was a hot goalie and a bigger stronger team win. Did the canucks want to win? Of course but their bodies let them down.

In these playoffs the refs let offences go that would have been called all day during the regular season. These offences really beat you down. The canucks were built to punish you on the score board and not with cheap plays. Vancouver was not perfect and also made cheap plays but Boston was bigger and stronger to take it. So bottom line is the stars for Vancouver were too beat up to pull of a win. Cudos to Boston for doing what it takes to win. The only thing I am ok with is our core is staying together and we have an amazing GM. We will be there again soon.

We need to make an offer sheet to Shea Weber and resign Bieska. Making our blue line stronger and better. I would offer Coho and a pick to the Flyers for Jeff Carter or devils for Parise. Bottom line is we need another star to play with kesler. It is easy to shut down one player on a line. Also I would get rid of our dead weight 4th line and start fresh there. Another bright spot we have is Chris Tanev, I look forward to watching him next year.

I will finish by saying Onefish your comments are horrible and they make you no better than the scum who trashed the city last night. If IronNog wants to cheer for Boston or thinks the Nucks choked that is his right. Who are you to call someone out for hunting when you fish. Killing is killing dumb butt!

Go Nucks 2012

Firstly losing Hamhuis,Rome and Raymond to some degree did not help the situation.
Secondly but not lesser importance was the way the Bruins manhandled the Canucks, especially difusing the first line.
As I said before Canucks management can be blamed by not bringing some one in,come playoff time to be a enforser,ie protecting the Sedins. Whether it was Burrows or Kesler playing on the Sedin line,it didnt matter. When the Bruins battered the Sedins neither Burrrows or Kesler came in to defend them. With Burrows and Kesler it was just yapping.Neither of them dropped the gloves and the Bruins knew they wouldnt. Stupid management never realized the difference between regular season versus play off hockey. Yes Bruins were very good but the Canucks allowed them to be somewhat. What happens to AV now, should be interesting, still think he is too passive.

Felix if in any way, shape or form the oil could get Gretzky involved with the team I would cheer for them. Although quietly enough for no one to hear. LOL

I wonder if Taylor hall now wished he was second overall pick last year.......

It was an incredible series. The Canucks are an amazing team but it's a freaking mystery to me how from game to game, their goal tending could go from brilliant to mediocre, then back to brilliant again. Too bad last night's effort was on the wrong side of that cycle......

I saw multiple times where he seemed to be in the wrong place at the wrong time. Off balance, like he wasn't plugged in to what was going on, and got away with it. The score could have been even more lop-sided then it was.

Pitchers help win baseball games. Goalies help win hockey games. Thomas deserved that MVP. No doubt

Might well have been due to the fact I was OFFSHORE for all but one game before this, and chose not to comment on what I hadn't had the luxury of personally witnessing.
May also have something to do with the fact that I DO believe they Choked in this final game. My opinion, you don't have to agree obviously, however I believe most would likely concur...

Your shot about hunting was cheap and uncalled for. I fish, I Hunt, and as a consequence I kill things. Goes with the territory, and as long as nothing gets wasted, I am more than comfortable with that fact. Get over it, or go join the like-minded AssHats over at PETA!
