After years with old gas push mower's I upgraded to a gently used Toro 22" recycler
with the drive function and it is great !
anybody have any reports from their own experience ?

I have a freebie yardworks push mower that was given to us but brand new. And a John Deere riding mower that came with the house but it’s only 1/4 acre haha

I just bought a new Honda microcut twin blade mower from dealership with drive function. Very happy from having cheap mowers over the years. They sure jumped in price though omg.

I had it Briggs motors this year. My two year old Columbia lawn tracker is screwed. Still not sure what is going on. Frankly pissing me off.

Funny thing is Honda mower does better job and really isn't that much slower.

I run a Husqvarna MZ 52” 17.5 hp zero turn. As we cut around 3 acres of just grass out here we need it. Been a good machine it’s on its 8th year now I believe and haven’t had any issues with it.

Hopefully non of you live in oak bay. Heard they are banning gas powered gardening equipment
I imagine that will be grandfathered in and not really enforced. Also if you have a lot of property, you don’t have a choice

Apparently a 3 year phase out. It’s a joke I couldn’t believe it . Electric/ battery powered equipment has gone a long way in recent years but i couldn’t imagine not using a gas powered mower .

For regular city lots of like 1/4 acre, the electrics are great. If you have over an acre, it’s not gonna work with what’s available today

I don’t know boys, been doing some research on some of the new electric mowers and I’m seriously considering one for a next machine. Our next place I plan on cutting down on the lawn size maybe an acre, acre and a half and some of the machines out there are more than capable of it. They have them now in zero turn and up to 60” decks. Price point is up there but maybe in 10 years the gas and up keep it would balance out.

We have a Scott's push mower for the back and a Great States push mower for the front. The latter had a free sign on it that I spotted while walking the dog. It came with two big antique hack saws, but the neighbour had to explain to me that they are meat saws. Anyone want one? I don't hunt or butcher or amputate.
Once you figure out how to reverse the gears to the opposite sides, slap some valve grinding compound on the blades and take your reel mower for a walk down the sidewalk, you can get them really sharp.
It doesn't rain here much, so maybe they're no good for coastal climes.

I have a Honda push mower 22 years old which refuses to die. Next mower will definitely be a battery electric. Currently have a battery powered blower, weed eater, hedge trimmer and pole saw which I must say I love. No more stale gas draining spark plug changing nonsense and they are nice and quiet too.

I have a Dewalt mower that I can easily mow half an acre with if the grass is not too long.

Honda commercial gas mower. Shindaiwa weed wacker and backpack blower. Honda pressure washer. All gas. Can’t beat them.

I like the Honda mulching mower. Lightweight and extremely simple. $550. They're commercial grade bag ones are nice but quite heavy.
