What's a good Sounder / Fish Finder for Salmon fishing

I bought a Garmin 350C a couple of years ago and this unit rocks. Last year out of Port Hardy I was on plane at 21mph reading 700' deep. Took a bit to tune it in as you want it down a bit on the back not to loose the bounce on speed. The new ones are 500C and 55C. Also get the dual beam.

I've never owned any Lowrance equipment, but after reading about the problems people
have experienced with it , i think i'll stick to Garmin.

From what i've read, when it's working people love it, when it's not it's a pain in the a$$

your bang on there! Seems like there has been a flury of break downs lately...where the gps goes...."$500" fix, so of course you opt for the new one HDS, and....I am not happy with mine, too glitchy for my liking for where i run and fish.
