Waterproofing survival suits

Bows Up

Bought a used survival suit. Fishing out of a 14', I should have done it years ago.

Anywho, going to give it the tag recommended cold water wash and then ???

Is there a spray on or wash additive anyone would recommend ?

I've had good luck keeping my old Gore-tex renewed but I am unfamiliar with what works with nylon ?

Yours in staying alive and dry. :D

there all kinds of after market spray on repellents, just read which ones will work on nylon, and make sure to spray on in a very open well ventilated area, i have done hats , jackets, boots, backpacks, etc works well but usually for one season only depending on how much use it gets

I don't like to mess around with my Mustang floatation gear. I have owned cruiser suits, pants, jackets and vests. I found washing them or treating them effects the lifespan of the foam - that was many years ago though. For a light rain they are fine, if I am out in heavy rain for any length of time I put my Helly Hansen rain gear on over them. I would call Mustang and ask them and post what you hear for the rest of us.
