Rumor has it there is an upcoming derby at Cowichan lake. Anybody have any details?

Was just talking to a friend from Youbou, told me the annual Caycuse derby was coming later this month, said last year was real good, think I'll go this year. I can find out more if your interested. Smiley, is this the derby you're talking about?

The derby is the Feb 18th weekend at the Caycuse campground, $10.oo entry fee, Bobby O is the organizer but don't have his phone #, maybe someone on here does. I'm going for sure, good time to meet maybe talk about upcoming halibut derby.

Maybe someone can find out a little more on the rules of the derby, like, is it from daylight to 2:00 p.m. and if we don't live in the area, how can we get tickets? Do we show up at the campground at 5:00 a.m. 'cause Bobby O. is on site? Is he up there Friday night too?

PS, Dont forget to try those alevin flies at the creek mouths too, there should some rolling down the creeks by then and into the waiting mouths of hungry cutt's.

Fishawk, this weekend is a bust for me. Was planning on maybe going there last weekend but ended up going for steelies on Sat. and Hali's / salmon Sunday. This weekend is going to be spent up Mount Washington so I will have to try that method in the next few weekends for sure. I like the idea though so I can't wait to try it. I'll make a point of coming to the derby next time. Good luck y'all.
