Transferring Waypoints Between Chartplotters

Just bought a new Lowrance Elite 9 Chirp chartplotter and I'm in the process of transferring all my stored waypoints from my old Lowrance LCX to the new unit. I inserted a blank SD card into the old unit to save the waypoints but the SD card wasn't recognized. A "please insert MMC card" message pops up. Any suggestions?

may need to format the sd card into a format it recognizes. just guessing. maybe it needs to be formatted into FAT or NTFS... ? may say in the manual?

a quick google says it's probably FAT format that's required.
(use your computer and a sd card to usb adapter. if your computer doesn't have an sd slot)

Some of the older Chartplotters do not recognize SD cards above 1gb or 2gb.
Try a smaller card and see if that works
