Oceans West Adventures is seeking a professional fishing/ adventure guide for our upcoming season in Ucluelet. Guide will be operating a 28' foot twin engine vessel with modern equipment.
$35-40/ hour, plus paid prep time and excellent tips. Average $550-750/ day during the core of the season. 4 hour, 6 hour, and 8 hour trip lengths. 1-2 trips per day.
Flexible start/ end date based on guide preference (May-June start), with potential for work through September if desired.
This position requires a reliable guide who is personable and service centered. We charter a range of crews with varying levels of age and experience.
Minimum 2 season of experience as a saltwater fishing guide and 3+ seasons of working with an SVOP. WCVI guiding experience a major asset. Halibut anchoring experience an asset.
We are also interested in a well qualified, locally based, experienced guide for relief work during the core of the season (July/ August).
Required tickets:
SVOP with 3+ years experience (Small Commercial Vessel Operators Proficiency)
ROC-M (Restricted Operator Certificate Marine)
MED A3 (Marine Emergency Duties)
MBFA (first aid)
