Raising worms - Victoria

[Tips Up]

So with a tub of worms $18, my son wants to try raising worms for fishing instead.
Anyone tried this in Victoria or similar climate ?
He has build the tub and researched the worms to order to get started.
His concern is cold winter and hot summer. Doesn't want to lose his investment. LOL.

Thought I would see if anyone had experience here?

Bring em in the house!! That’s what I used to do.

Teach him to use a flash light and at night on a lawn the dew worms come out to play ! I fill up a quart jar in 15 min when I know I’m going out the next day
Lawns garden or playgrounds the trick is to walk very softly the worms feel your steps and go down in the blink of an eye
Once the technique is learnt it’s easy !

Ps my grandpa used an old freezer in his carport for winter and filling it in fall never ran out till after Xmas and it was his side hustle
