I've fished there a lot and heard of one guy trying, but not doing so well. You would need a pretty serious means of keeping your traps in one place, as the swells would walk them around even with serious weight. I use a small anchor when prawning in areas of hard current (Areas where a 24" Scotsman will be half underwater). But I don't recall catching halibut or other bottomfish with a signifigant number of prawns in them.
