Port Renfrew Halibut

Hey guys How is the Weather out of Renfrew in end of May. Have a 19.5ft sangster and want to try fishing on the reef. also what side of the reef is better for fishing butts, and should I bring salmon gear to incase I acccidently limit on hali's (with my history not likely[8D]) will be the first time on swiftsure so any help appreciated. Already heard to watch for ships

just a word of caution, you should have GPS, VHF, and radar
as well as very reliable power and kicker. you will be roughly
20 miles offshore and there may not be a lot of boats out there
at that time.
if the weather gets bad, and it can happen quickly, it will make
for a long uncomfortable ride home.

I here you, have a bit of experience, I am missing radar though so am wondering how that time of year is for fog, cause nobody like to be run over...
