To all Sport Fishermen of Canada,

It is with great pain and sadness that I share the news today of the passing of a Great Man.

Bob Jones died Aug 18 after battling an illness for the past couple of months.

An avid fisherman, outdoor writer, husband, father, and in more recent months my mentor in the WSA, he will be sadly missed by all.

I only wish I had more time to get to know him better.
All of us who fish owe Bob Jones a debt of gratitude.

Thanks Terry for posting. You are absolutely right-- he will be missed.For those that didnt know him, Bob was the editor of the Island Fisherman magazine, a collaborator with Larry Stefanyk on numerous books and articles on sportsfishing. He had fished all over Canada and Europe while posted with the Canadian Airforce. From Muskies to salmon, Bob was a treasure chest of fishing knowledge.
