Ghost trap... mayhem

Well just had a bad experience went out this eve for a quick fish and one of the riggers almost got ripped off the boat lucky i was able to get it stop but not in time where it crunched the old fibre glass gunnel . i did plate underneath but now have to pull the boat and do a glass/gel coat repair ....
Never lost the gear but was in a total mess ... some muppet had just used a poly rope which obviously had got propped no bouy and i was unfortunate enough to tangle into it ... alas the brakes on the riggers did not slip so there was another job i could kick myself for, as i got them second hand ...... well there go's my fishing tomorrow afternoon .......even worse the trap which caused it all was empty and only bonus is it's a fairly new one so bollock's its mine now ......lol
